Congratulations on signing the contract! Now, what happens next?
First things first: We will conduct a welcome call going over your project and schedule a site check.
Before the solar panels can be installed on your roof, we'll work with you to gather the necessary permits from your city and work with your HOA (if applicable) on approval.
Once all the paperwork is in place, we can schedule your installation date. Typically, a solar installation takes one or two days, depending on the size and complexity of your system. They'll review the solar design with you before installing any racking and mounting equipment to ensure everyone is aligned. Once the racking is installed, they'll wire and mount the solar panels, then connect everything to your main electrical panel.
After the installation, a few steps remain:
Inspection: In most cities, the solar installation needs to pass an inspection from the local building, electrical, or fire department.
Utility Approval: Your utility company must approve your system for final interconnection to the grid, granting you the "permission to operate" (PTO).
Once you receive PTO and your system is turned on, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the savings.
Monitor Production: Check your solar production in the monitoring app to ensure the panels perform as expected. We'll actively monitor your system as well.
Check Your Electricity Bill: Compare your usage and costs to previous months. Are you using more or less energy? Are you seeing the expected savings? If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to us.
Claim Tax Credits: Don't forget to submit the appropriate tax forms to claim the Investment Tax Credit during next year’s tax season.
Explore Electrification: For many, solar is the first step toward an electrified home. If you're interested in electric vehicles, EV chargers, batteries, and more, we can help you find the right products and contractors for all your needs.
